Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was awarded the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, jointly
with Leymah Gbowee of Liberia and Tawakel Karman of Yemen. The women
were recognized and awarded for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women
and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work.
An amazing woman, with an amazing story... She dreamt bigger than most would have dared, and lived brighter, than most could have imagined. Her dreams probably did frighten her, but she didn't let them stop her. Rather took her courage and took her belief in herself, and carried on.
