Today is four months since My Beautiful Words came to be.
And here I am walking into 2013 together with 13,000 souls on Facebook.
Four months ago, I would never have imagined it to become the community
it is today, the group of souls that it is today. I find myself truly
grateful for the people I have met, that through this, I possibly may
never have met. I am grateful for all the mails and the encouragement I
receive. And I am grateful for all the inspiration that you give me.
I am grateful for those that have believed in me since the beginning.
And I am grateful for those that join with each day. I am grateful for
all the shares and the likes and thoughts given. And I am grateful for all the support that
I receive from so many other wonderful pages.
I am grateful for the love I have of this project. I am grateful for the passion I have of this project.
I am grateful for all that has been. For all that is. And I am grateful for all that is yet to come.
The other day, I asked a question on Facebook. If there was one word you would make as your wish for the New Year, what would it be?
I was overwhelmed with the replies. Heartfully overwhelmed. I was only expecting a handful of answers, and not
over two hundred. And although Love and Peace were the words most
wished for, there was still one hundred words that individually came
together.
So I decided, to put all the wishes together. For
each of you. For all of us. Together. We know, that things have more
power and passion when together.
And I added my words too. Those would be Majestic. Brave. Daring.
So sending out my wish for you... That all your words and wishes,
accompany you with each moment of the New Year. With each moment of your
life.
Thank you, that you've allowed me to be a part of your life.
Thank you, simply for you.
My Christmas Love to you. Wishing you warm hearts and cold hands.
Moments filled with Gratitude and Love. Constant Faith and Belief in
yourself and all that is around you. Eyes that sparkle at the smallest
wonders. Sing Silent Night, Holy Night. Light a candle. Or simply be
that light yourself. Wishing you overflowing Blessings. And wishing you
Enough. Always. But mostly wishing you Love. Grateful, joyful Love.
I wish you enough. Of all you need. And all you want. I wish you simply that. Enough.
I recently read these beautiful and hearttouching words from Bob Perks,
and Chicken Soup For the Grieving Soul. I needed and wanted to share,
as my wish for you... And for all of us. That we always have enough.
I Wish You Enough by Bob Perks
"Recently I overheard a father and daughter in their last moments
together. They had announced her departure and standing near the
security gate, they hugged and he said, "I love you. I wish you enough."
She in turn said, "Daddy, our life together has been more than enough.
Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Daddy."
They kissed and she left. He walked over toward the window where I was
seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry. I tried
not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, "Did you
ever say goodbye to someone knowing it would be forever?"
"Yes, I have," I replied. Saying that brought back memories I had of
expressing my love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me.
Recognizing that his days were limited, I took the time to tell him face
to face how much he meant to me.
So I knew what this man experiencing.
"Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever goodbye?" I asked.
"I am old and she lives much too far away. I have challenges ahead and
the reality is, the next trip back would be for my funeral," he said.
"When you were saying goodbye I heard you say, "I wish you enough." May I ask what that means?"
He began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other
generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." He paused for a
moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled
even more."When we said 'I wish you enough,' we were wanting the other
person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain
them," he continued and then turning toward me he shared the following
as if he were reciting it from memory.
"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."
Believe in yourself. Believe in your dreams. Take that step beyond. That is where your greatest self and your greatest courage unveil themselves. In the simple true belief. And giving yourself to it with all your heart.
Reminding myself, as much as I am reminding you...
"Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces,
I would still plant my apple tree."
Martin Luther
Yes. I would.
Trees are gifts I often give to friends. In symbolism.
I want to grow with them. With these trees. With my friends. I want us
to one day, look back and see how far we've come. How much we've grown.
Into life and into ourselves.
I'd like to suggest a small tree
as a gift for those that are close to you as well. Be it family. Be it
friends. Call it the "Life Tree". Call it the "Friendship Tree".
And always believe in tomorrow. And always believe in your dreams. And always believe in each other.
"Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree."
